Wasendorf Son Subpoenaed in Peregrine Case

Russell Wasendorf Jr., president of Peregrine Financial Group Inc., has been subpoenaed to appear before a federal grand jury examining the alleged wrongdoing that led to the brokerage’s collapse.

Mr. Wasendorf Jr. is expected to appear before the grand jury in August, according to a person familiar with the matter, as federal investigators and market regulators probe an alleged 20-year fraud carried out by his father, Russell Wasendorf Sr., Peregrine’s founder and chief executive.
