Airbus corruption scandal spreads to US

The corruption allegations hanging over Airbus have spread to the United States as Europe’s plane-making giant admitted that it had violated American compliance rules.

The admission came as Airbus said that ongoing bribery investigations in the UK and France could have “negative consequences” for the company.

French media outlets said that the world’s second biggest plane-maker behind Boeing fears fines of billions of pounds in connection with the inquiries by Britain’s Serious Fraud Office (SFO) and France’s National Financial Prosecution (PNF) service.
